Drake breaks another record.
Considering Scorpion‘s physical copy didn’t go on sale until a day after the charting period, the entirety of his sales are based off of digital downloads and streams. However, there are a few CD’s that account to the total sales since a few retailers began selling it a few days before it’s actual release date. Unfortunately, this also had an impact on his pockets as it was reported that he lost out on $500K by delaying the release of the physical copies.
Regardless of this, Drake is still winning out here. He became the first artist in the history of Apple Music to garner 10 billion streams on a project and he’s still expected to hold the number one position on the Billboard 200 this coming week.
